Most of us have bucket lists for things we want to do in our life. Some of us have yearly bucket lists as part of our New Year’s Resolutions, but what about a seasonal bucket list?
Seasonal bucket lists are an excellent way to set goals for things you want to do during a specific time of year and can even lead you to find new activities that you might never have tried before.
WHY USE A SEASON-SPECIFIC LIST?
Autumn is a great time to start a seasonal bucket list. This season can be short and fleeting depending on where you live, so it is more time-sensitive and can be a more concise list with items you can complete within a few months.
It is that time of year when we start winter – we put away our summer clothes and break out the sweaters – it’s time to get cozy. As you work on your daily planner or journal, think of different ideas on what you can plan for this season. A simple list of things you want to do, see and accomplish.
This list could help you get out of the house and enjoy the last bit of pleasant weather before the winter sets in. Find things that will allow you to enjoy all that the autumn season has to offer. The clothes, the food, the smells, Halloween, just saying.
BENEFITS OF MAKING A BUCKET LIST
Why a bucket list? Well, to start, there are a few general benefits to keeping a bucket list:
– Setting and reaching goals
– Having new experiences
– Getting out of your comfort zone
There are likely things that you have always wanted to do but have never taken the step forward to make it a reality. Creating a bucket list can help you to check off those things you have always wanted to try but never have.
So, get creating – if you have a clear list of the things you want to accomplish, the places you want to go, and the people you want to me, you can encourage yourself to get out and make it happen.
SOME IDEAS FOR WHAT TO INCLUDE
Depending on where you live, your autumn/fall bucket list will vary but think about what you enjoy doing during the season. Better yet, think about everything you have wanted but never got around to doing. The hay ride you never took, the haunted house you don’t dare to go to, a festival or harvest you want to participate in, apple picking, anyone?
You can add fun things like going to your local pumpkin patch or specific fall crafts.
You might have other things in mind, like having friends over for a game night or going on a fall hike. List anything and everything you want to do and cross them off one by one.
